GSB Teams Up with UMass Athletics
Collaboration underscores GSB's focus on supporting community

Greenfield Savings Bank has launched a multi-faceted partnership with UMass Athletics, supporting its football, basketball and hockey teams with a three-year sponsorship in a collaboration that will extend through 2028.
The brand new relationship, which also includes Learfield’s UMass Sports Properties, underscores the bank’s focus on the university community adjacent to its Amherst branch, which is located at 6 University Dr. and serves many UMass employees as customers, along with students and alumni.
Greenfield Savings Bank President and CEO Peter Albero said he is proud to be able to support UMass—an engine for progress in the region.
“We are committed to the community of Amherst, and the university itself, and we value that UMass Athletics is a key economic driver in the region, bringing thousands of visitors each year to local hotels, restaurants and businesses and also creating countless employment opportunities,” Albero said. “We appreciate the chance to acknowledge the university’s contributions while also supporting student athletes and enhancing our relationship with its leaders.”
The partnership kicked off on Sept. 3, when the UMass Minutemen football team launched its season.
Players and fans alike will see the Greenfield Savings Bank logo near the field, and when the season ends, the branding will appear near the court and the ice at the Mullins Center at men’s and women’s basketball games and UMass hockey match-ups.
“We are pleased to welcome Greenfield Savings Bank as a partner,” said Andrew Stuebner, general manager of UMass Sports Properties. “We both believe in community collaboration and helping young people thrive.”
UMass Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield—the leading media and technology company powering college sports—is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for UMass Athletics and handles all sponsorships, in-venue signage and advertising on behalf of the university.
