Turners Falls is currently part of the Rural Downtown Revitalization Pilot Project, which tests the concept of having a shared downtown coordinator for Northfield, Turners Falls, and Shelburne Falls. Christian LaPlante, a Montague resident, was hired as the Downtown Coordinator in July 2025 and has been leading the pilot program for the last nine months to enhance economic growth, support local businesses, and create a sustainable regional model for managing rural downtowns.
