Hot Chocolate Run Was A Sweet Success for Safe Passage and Team GSB

What a day! On Sunday, December 7, 2025, thousands of runners, walkers, volunteers, and cheerleaders filled downtown Northampton for the 22nd Annual Hot Chocolate Run, a community tradition and a big fundraiser for Safe Passage, the Hampshire County non-profit working to end domestic violence.

Participants donned costumes, sipped cocoa, and raised funds to support Safe Passage’s free and confidential services, including counseling, legal advocacy, and peer support for survivors of all genders.

Team GSB showed up big.

Greenfield Savings Bank was proud to be the lead sponsor of this year’s event, and our team brought the energy! You couldn’t miss us in our green, black, and white knit hats and GSB gloves. Over 40 employees and family members joined the run, walk, and fun runs or volunteered in the tent. Team GSB finished 2nd place in fundraising—Go Team!

Our heated tent was a hub of activity, with hundreds of visitors stopping by to spin the prize wheel and score giveaways like hats, gloves, lip balm, dog bowls, and candy. It was a great way to connect with the community and share some warmth on a chilly December morning.

GSB’s Chief Operating Officer and Safe Passage board member, Shandra Richardson, spoke to the crowd about why this event matters:
“Every step you take today helps Safe Passage provide free, confidential services like counseling, legal advocacy, and support for survivors of all genders. Domestic violence affects people everywhere, and everyone can play a role in ending it. That’s why GSB is proud to support Safe Passage—because their work saves lives.”
The Hot Chocolate Run is about showing up for survivors and celebrating community. Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, and cheered. Your support makes a difference.
