Greenfield, MA (February 19, 2026) — Greenfield Savings Bank (GSB), collectively with employees throughout all their branch and headquarters locations, filled 95 meal bags of non-perishable items to support the Women’s Way 22nd annual Supper for Six program, which supports families facing food insecurity during the February school vacation by providing bags of nutritional and ready-to-cook meals to area food pantries.

The Women’s Way, which is an affinity group of the United Way of the Franklin & Hampshire Region, hosts the annual Supper for Six to support families who may be facing increased food insecurity during the February break. According to Feeding America’s latest “Map the Meal Gap” report, as much as 11 percent of Franklin County residents face food insecurity, with nearly 1,900 of those being children.

Many families rely on school meals, which during the February break food services are not offered creating an increase of people going to food pantries in the area. The Supper for Six program helps ensure the food pantries are well stocked with meals to support the increased need during this week.

“At Greenfield Savings Bank, we recognize that many people in our community are facing food insecurity, which is why we are proud to support the important work of the Women’s Way and the United Way of the Franklin & Hampshire Region’s Supper for Six meal collection program. Through our annual sponsorship and meal bag donations, we help provide meals to families during February break, when the need increases. Together, we can make a meaningful difference, and it’s a full‑team effort from everyone at GSB who takes the time to come together and fill meal bags,” said Tom Meshako, President & CEO of Greenfield Savings Bank.

“We have a large challenge in our communities of people having enough healthy food to eat and often having to choose between paying bills or eating. However, through partnerships with caring organizations like Greenfield Savings Bank (GSB) we can help provide food to those neighbors facing food insecurity,” Holly Martineau, Director of Development United Way Franklin & Hampshire Region. “GSB is always willing to step up and help. Through their sponsorship and employee support of filling meal bags we can help alleviate families’ concerns about feeding their children over the February break.”
