Two-Factor Authentication Is Coming to GSB

Starting at the end of October, GSB is rolling out two-factor authentication (2FA) for online banking in the form of a one-time passcode. You’ve probably seen 2FA in a lot of your online logins. It’s a smarter way to protect your money, your identity, and your peace of mind.
What Is Two-Factor Authentication, Anyway?
Using a one-time passcode acts as a double lock on your digital front door. Instead of just entering a password (which can be guessed, stolen, or reused), you’ll also confirm your identity with a code sent to your email. It’s fast, simple, and more secure.
Why does this matter? Because cybercriminals are getting slicker. Passwords alone aren’t enough anymore. With 2FA, even if someone gets your login info, they still can’t access your account without that second factor.
Heads-Up: Keep Your Contact Info Current
2FA only works if we can reach you. If your email is outdated, you might miss the verification code. (Or worse, you might miss alerts about suspicious activity!)
In order to update your email, you’ll need to login to online banking through a browser (not the app on your phone).
To update your email:
- First, login to your online banking from a browser
- Next, go to “Profile” in the top right corner
- Then, click on “Email”.
- Here, you can update and confirm your best email.
- Click on the green “Save” button.
