On February 4th from 10am-11:15am, Belinda Lyons Zucker will bring her talents to the community room. Belinda is an African American doll artist and sculptor, teaching and selling her art in local galleries. This event will feature Belinda’s private collection of dolls with a narrative on the West African tradition and how the tradition made its way to the Americas
On February 11th from 9am- 11:15am, Belinda returns to facilitate a mask making event where 12-15 participants will make collage masks from decorative paper. Attendees are invited to create two masks, one to take home from the event and one to leave to exhibit in the office lobby. Call 413.863.4316 to reserve your spot!
On the 18th, Moonlight Davis and Morning Star will offer an hour of tradition from 11am-12pm. This talented local husband and wife duo will offer African songs, poems, and discussions, with emphasis on traditional clothing and musical instruments.
For the last week of the month, Belinda Lyons Zucker treats the office once more to her generosity and talent by having her entire collection of dolls and masks on display during normal business hours.
