Gretchen Melnik, LMT of Tranquil Transformations Massage Therapy in Shelburne Falls will be offering free chair massages in our Shelburne Falls Community Room. If you're unfamiliar with the benefits of massage therapy, stop in and ask about the increased relaxation, reduction in pain, improvements to sleep, reduction of anxiety, and improvement of joint mobility. Massages are first come, first serve.

"Beauty is Medicine". Our Downtown Amherst Office will be displaying work from artist Zhong-hua Lu throughout the month of February.
Zhong-hua Lu was born in 1958 in Shandong Province, China. Starting at age five, Zhong-hua learned traditional brush painting and martial arts from his father and five uncles.
During the Cultural Revolution, traditional arts, philosophies, and customs were maligned as counter-revolutionary, and those who carried this knowledge were banished or killed. Zhong-hua continued to secretly practice until Chairman Mao died in 1976. Zhong-hua lives in rural upstate NY with his wife Ellen Graf. He teaches traditional Chinese Arts, including tai chi and Chinese brush painting, at Mass MOCA, Williams College, The Capital Region Art Center, The Chinese Community Center, Eastover Retreat Center, and his home studio on the Rensselaer Plateau. He has also received a 2018 NYFA Fellowship in Traditional Arts from the New York Foundation for the Arts for his painting, “Chrysanthemum Season".

Stephen Broyles is an Amherst resident who makes pictures in pen, ink, and watercolor, mostly in and around Amherst. In this month's showing he includes pictures made in Italy as well. Broyles has shown his recent work in Brattleboro, in both bank branches here in Amherst, and in Henion's Bakery.

Sarah Malone is a 21 year old LGBT artist from Charlemont. Sarah says, "Each painting you see is a unique glimpse into my colorful thoughts that has been painted with love in my sunny kitchen studio". Sarah spends her days "slinging paint onto canvases, drinking cups of hot tea, and playing with her adorable disabled dog Rosebelle". When she's not creating art, you can find Sarah working alongside human and canine friends making dog wheelchairs with Eddie's Wheels of Shelburne Falls. Sarah invites you to enjoy her newest collection of paintings while they decorate the walls of our Shelburne Falls Office!

Our Conway Office is displaying the beautiful work of Steve Welch through the month of February. Steve says "I feel blessed to be able to express, in an artful way, the beauty I see in Nature". Steve is currently studying with Rey Milici and is a member of the Deerfield Valley Art Association and the Amherst Plein Aire Society. He was juried into the Friends of the Agawam Public Library Annual Competition in 2018.
