COVID-19 SBA Disaster Relief Information

Letter from John Howland Regarding The SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)

I am pleased to announce that in just two days following the release of a second round of the SBA Paycheck Protection Program (on Monday, April 27th at 10:30 am), we successfully completed entering the applications of the approximately 200 PPP loans applications that were left unfunded when the initial SBA PPP funds were depleted. I thank all of the more than 40 members of the GSB SBA PPP Task Force who worked throughout Monday and Tuesday during the day and into the evenings to complete the applications for our customers. As a result of their efforts, to date we have secured in excess of $50 Million of SBA PPP loans for more than 600 local businesses.

As a result of this achievement, I am pleased to announce that we are now accepting new applications for SBA PPP Loans. We will continue to do this as long as the funding is available. I strongly advise any of our GSB commercial customers who have not yet applied, but meet the SBA PPP loan criteria, to do so immediately as there is no way of knowing how long this second round of SBA PPP funds will last.

Below are links to the applications and checklist to assist with the application process.

I am very proud of our commercial lending team and our entire GSB PPP Task Force for their continued hard work and their extra efforts to complete as many applications as possible while the clock is running on the limited funding available. This process has been emotionally stressful and physically exhausting due to the importance of the work and the number of hours required to process the applications.

All of us at Greenfield Savings Bank appreciate how important this funding is to our local businesses as well the personal stress they are coping with as a result of the pandemic. We will continue to do everything possible to help our customers during this difficult time.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

John H. Howland
